Roger F. Lessard 94, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2024, in his home after a period of declining health.

The son of Henry and Eugenie (Michaud) Lessard, he was a lifelong resident of Manchester, NH.

He is survived by his wife of 72 yrs., Beatrice (Spenard). They had 4 children. He is predeceased by his daughter Lynn (Anctil). Survived by 1 son, Garry Lessard and his life partner, Peter Hough of Wells, ME; 2 daughters, Lisa and her husband, Authur Page of Rowley, MA and Deborah and her husband, Michael King of Deerfield, NH; 4 Grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; Lynn’s son Jeffrey Anctil, wife, Amy Myshrall and great-granddaughter Ella of York ME. Lisa’s Daughter, Amanda Poltak, husband, Justin and great-grandchildren Piper, Luke and Hudson of Cape Elizabeth, ME. Deborah and Michaels sons, Connor King, his fiancé Staci Gaines and Riley King all of Deerfield, NH.

Roger grew up in a large family being one of the younger siblings. He is predeceased by brothers, Henry, Leo, Robert, Oscar (Buddy), Charlie, Richard and sisters Bea, Gloria and Pauline. He is survived by brothers Paul and Maurice Lessard of Maine and sisters Theresa (Dion) of Manchester, Aurea (Levesque) and Elaine ( Boucher) of Maine and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In his youth Roger became interested in boxing and fought in several matches around New England. In 1948 he was crowned as a NH. Golden Gloves champion in his division. He cut his boxing career short to marry the love of his life Beatrice in 1951. In 1958 with help from brothers he built his family home in Manchester. Following in the footsteps of several brothers he became involved in residential construction and was self-employed for much of his life. He was a very talented woodworker and in retirement he created many one-of-a-kind pieces for family and friends.

Being a very down to earth and easy-going man Roger always had a large circle of friends. He loved to play Pool and entered and won many local tournaments. He was a long-time member of the Queen City Pool League in Manchester. He even created his own custom pool cues which he sold and are sought after by pool players in the area even to this day.

In the early 80’s with retirement in mind Roger built a peaceful lakeside retreat in Moultonboro, NH. which has been enjoyed by family and friends for years. It’s no surprise that one of Rogers all time favorite pastimes was fishing. He knew exactly where to catch the largest Bass in the lake. And we have the many pictures to prove it. The time he spent at camp with his wife and family were some of the most treasured of his life. His legacy will live on and never be forgotten.
