Roland A. Baron, 91, of Manchester, died March 10, 2016 at Villa Crest Nursing Home, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Manchester on July 12, 1924, the son of Adelard and Angelena (Croteau) Baron. He was educated in Manchester and was a lifelong resident of the city.
Roland served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Gunner Merchant Marine on the S.S. Pacific. He was honorably discharged in 1946. Roland was a dedicated construction worker with the Local Union # 668 Laborers for many years. He was a very hard worker who lived a simple life. He enjoyed time spent at the Scarborough and Rockingham race tracks with his brother-in-law Louis. He also enjoyed watching the Red Sox, and feeding and watching the birds. Over all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.
The family includes his beloved wife of 69 years, Yolanda F. (Amato) Baron of Manchester; two daughters, Bernice Stachokas and husband George of Candia, and Bonnie Baron of Manchester; one son, Gino Baron and wife Gloria of Manchester; three grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and one sister, Aurore Morin and husband Albert of Fremont. He was predeceased by his two sisters, Yvonne Adams, and Jeannette Doucet.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm Street, Manchester.
