Roland L. Duhamel, 70, of Manchester, died October 12, 2004 at the Catholic Medical Center after a period of declining health.
He was born in Granby, Canada on March 15, 1934, the son of Hermas and Therese (Ravnel) Duhamel. He was educated in the Granby school system.
Prior to retirement, he had been employed as a carpenter by Local 40.
He was a parishioner of St. Anthony Church and was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus, Notre Dame Council 5163.
He leaves his wife of 45 years, Fabiola (Fournier) Duhamel of Manchester; One daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Eric Carlson of Manchester; 3 sons, Luc and wife Dawna Duhamel of Raymond, Rene and wife Jackie Duhamel of Deerfield, and Sylvain Duhamel of Manchester; 6 grandchildren, Natasha and Travis Duhamel, Spencer and Chandler Duhamel, and Natalie and Matthew Carlson; 5 brothers, Paul and wife Therese, Claude and wife Eliette, Denis, Yves and wife Suzanne, and Guy Duhamel; 4 sisters, Gilberte and husband Jacques, Diane and husband Raymond, Francine, and Pierette; Brothers-in-law Jean Claude Auger of Manchester, Valier and wife Monique Fournier, and Rene-Jean Fournier; Sisters-in-law, Therese Ballard and Salome Fournier; Many nephews, nieces, and cousins in Canada; He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Roger and Jacques Duhamel.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Anthony Church on Saturday October 16, 2004. Encryptment took place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
