He was born in Manchester on October 4, 1923, the son of Alphonse and Louise (Soucy) Lambert.
Roland grew up in Manchester and was a graduate of Manchester High School Central, class of 1941. After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army-Air Corps and served in World War II, stationed in England.
After the War, he learned oil burner maintenance and worked for State Heating, then Kalamazoo Heating, which he purchased in 1958. He and his wife Rita ran Lambert Oil Inc. out of their home until 1976.
He was then the service manager at City Fuel until his retirement in 1985. He and Rita moved to Epsom, NH on Northwood Lake. He was involved in line dancing at the YMCA in Concord and the Concord Dance Academy.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rita (Petit) Lambert of Epsom; his children, Donna Lambert-Schmiech of Danville, VT, Janet Dumas of Raleigh, NC, Carol Lambert of Pittsfield, Peter Lambert of W. Ossipee, Linda Lambert of Montpelier, VT, David Lambert of Lisbon, NH, and Nancy Lambert of Durham, NH; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four sons-in-law and two daughters-in-law; several cousins. He was predeceased by his infant son Robert Roland Lambert and his brother Joseph Lambert.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated in St. Anne-St. Augustin Church, Beech St, Manchester on Wednesday, October 15, 2008. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery, So. Beech St, Manchester.
