Roland P. Laflamme, 83, of Manchester, died August 19, 2016, at Catholic Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Manchester on May 29, 1933, the son of Pierre and Aldina (Brouillette) Laflamme.
Roland served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He earned the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal and was honorably discharged in 1955. He was educated in Manchester and during his career, worked as a clerk in several grocery stores throughout the city.
Roland had a passion for woodworking. He enjoyed crafts, as well as fishing. In his later years he spent time working on puzzles. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother.
The family includes his wife of 61 years, Therese (Desmarais) Laflamme of Manchester; two daughters, Doris Noel and husband Gerald of Goffstown, and Joan Parent and husband Andre of Manchester; one son, Ronald Laflamme and wife Paula of Manchester; four grandchildren; Dana Laflamme, Nicole Allard, Cory Laflamme and his wife Ashley, and Michael Allard; and two great grandchildren, Alexandria and Caleb Laflamme; nine step grandchildren, Samantha Park, Andre Parent II, Brianna, Kayla, and Mackenzie Powell, Michele Parenti, Gerard Noel, Jr., Derek Noel, and Nicole Richard; cousins; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Gabrielle Perusse.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at St. Marie Church, 378 Notre Dame Ave., Manchester. Committal prayers, with military honors, will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
