Roland A. Roux

Roland A. Roux, 78, formerly of 81 Bow St., Manchester died March 31, 2002 at Hillsborough County Nursing Home, Goffstown after a long illness.

Born in Manchester on May 13, 1923, he was the son of Oscar and Eva (Roy) Roux. He lived in Manchester most of his life.

During World War II he served in the U.S. Army and saw active duty in Northern France; Rhineland, Germany and Ardennes, Belguim. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Victory Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon and the Asiatic Pacific Theater Campaign Ribbon. He ended his military career after having served in Japan and the Philippines.

Mr. Roux worked as a master electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, local 719 for many years.

The family includes his wife of 51 years, Evelyn L. (Garon) Roux of Goffstown; two daughters, Lori Turner of Manchester and Patricia Peters of Deering; six grandchildren; a sister, Rita Whitmore of Manchester; nieces and nephews.

The funeral was Thursday April 4, 2002 in the funeral home. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
