Roland R. Tancrede

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a remarkable husband, father, grandfather, brother, and loyal friend. Roland R. Tancrede of Candia, NH passed away June 1st surrounded by his family. He was 77 years old. Born in Manchester, NH he was the oldest son of Roger and Rita (Charbonneau) Tancrede. Roland graduated from St. Anthony High School and University of New Hampshire.

Unwavering devotion to the people he loved most defined Roland's life. His infectious sense of humor helped balance his extraordinary work ethic. As a Marine Corporal and Vietnam War veteran earning several medals, he demonstrated the value of service, resilience and loyalty throughout his life.

Above all else, family was the center of his world. Joan was the love of his life and devoted wife of 55 years. Together they built a beautiful life filled with enduring love, laughter, and travel. Together they raised two children, Amy and Jeff. Roland shared adventure with them on travels that ranged from local trips for penny candy to destinations all over the world.

He built a career with Osram Sylvania in Materials Management before retiring after 39 years. In retirement, he travelled with his wife Joan for summers in Harpswell ME and winter trips in search of fun, adventure, and warm weather.

Life's simple and meaningful moments brought him incredible joy. Time spent outdoors playing golfing, hunting, fishing, and hiking. He could often be found tinkering on projects in his beloved barn. Roland loved games of all types and was well known for his competitive cribbage play along with his long drives on the golf course.

Family members include his wife of fifty-five years, Joan (Simonton) Tancrede of Candia NH; his daughter, Amy Juneau and her husband Jeffrey of Epsom NH; his son, Jeffrey Tancrede and his wife Vanessa of Candia NH; his granddaughter Emma Tancrede of Candia NH. Roland's siblings include- Marcel Tancrede and his companion, Betty Jean Love, of Englewood FL; Michael Tancrede and his wife, Shirley, of Weare NH; Roger Tancrede and his wife, Pauline, of Ossipee NH; Suzanne Roberts and her husband, James, of Manchester NH; Denise Tancrede and her companion, Daniel Small, of Pembroke NH.

Funeral services and burial will be private. A celebration of Roland's life will take place on Sunday 6/28 4-7pm at Intervale Country Club in Manchester
