Rolande A. Bernard

Rolande (Ronnie) A. Bernard, 87, of Manchester, passed away on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Maple Leaf Health Care Center surrounded by her adoring family.
Born in Nashua, on November 30, 1930, she was the daughter of Denise R. (Rivard) and Joseph T. Mignault. She lived in Pinardville and later moved to Bedford. She spent her final years living with her daughter in Manchester.

Rolande attended St. Joseph High School for Girls. As a young girl she worked for J. J. Newberry and later worked at Arms Textile where she met her future husband, Omer (Guidou) Bernard. They shared 51 years of marriage before his passing in 2001. After many years raising her children, she worked at the Pandora Factory for 20 years before retirement.

She was hardworking and volunteered as a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader. Rolande enjoyed making things for her family, baking, traveling, visits to the beach, winters in Florida, square dancing, and trips to Foxwoods with her friends.

Family members include daughters Diane Proulx and her husband George of Auburn, and Constance Paquin and her husband Ronald of Manchester; sons Raymond Bernard and his partner Kathy Valavane of Manchester, and Michael Bernard and his wife Brenda of Bedford; grandchildren Christopher Proulx and his wife Sarah of Manchester, Scott Proulx and his wife Jennifer of Manchester, Andrea Arseneau and her wife, Elise of Coventry, CT, Adam Paquin-Varnum and his husband Robert of Antrim, and Cameron and Benjamin Bernard of Bedford; great grand children Jack, Abigail, Gwyneth and Morgan Proulx all of Manchester, Noel Arseneau of Coventry, Ct.; and brother Ernest Mignault and wife Pauline of Manchester; and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Doris Bernard of Goffstown and Laurette Morin of Safety Harbor, FL. She is pre-deceased by her parents and her sister, Theresa McPate.

The family would like to thank the staff at Maple Leaf Health Care Center, VNAHospice, and Visiting Angels for their support and care over the years.

A service was held on Monday, August 13, 2018 in the chapel at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm Street, Manchester.
