It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ronald Donat Joseph Groleau, who departed this world on August 8, 2024, at the age of 83. Born on December 29, 1940, in Manhattan, NY, to Roseanna Desmarteau and Donat Groleau, Ron's life was a legacy woven with love, dedication, and adventure.

Ron spent his early years in Manhattan. His family moved to Manchester when he was 8 where he attended local schools before embarking on his career as a machinist. He worked for RCL Electronics and Sweet Heart Plastics, eventually retiring from BAE Systems, formerly Sanders, after 20 years of dedicated service.

Ron served his country with honor for 20 years in the Army National Guard 197th FA Unit, C Battery. He was activated in the early 1960s and received an honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant. His commitment to service continued as a proud member of the American Legion Post 79 and Sweeney Post 2.

Ron was a devoted family man, a loving husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He spent his last 30 years with his beloved wife, Irene. They spent countless summers camping, fishing, boating, and playing bingo at Forest Glen Campground in Lee, NH. Their travels took them across the United States, the Caribbean, Canada, and Alaska, creating cherished memories along the way.

Ron was always there to lend a helping hand to those in need, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew him. He coached his sons' Little League teams and he made sure they knew he was always there for them. His warmth and wisdom touched everyone he met. He cherished his time playing horseshoes, bocce ball, and cribbage with friends, listening to country music and golden oldies, and riding in his Mustang convertible. His greatest passion was riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. He was a member of the Manchester Harley Group.

Ron loved sharing stories of his life, passing on his wisdom, and spreading laughter with his endless supply of humor. He enjoyed warm weather, dinners at the beach, and fall fairs. Breakfast was his favorite meal, always enjoying the same dish because, as he said, "If you know what you like, why change?" In his later years, Ron often said, "I lived a good life" and "I have no regrets." His legacy of love, service, and family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

Ron was formerly married to Francine Groleau of Manchester, NH, with whom he shares his two sons: Joseph Groleau and wife Cindy of Manchester, NH, and Thomas Groleau and wife Christine of Portsmouth, NH.

Ron was a loving stepfather to Mark Brodeur and wife Susan of Epsom, NH, Paul Brodeur and partner Angela Mangold, and Lisa Bond and husband Tom of Locust, NC. He is also survived by his brother, Richard Groleau and wife Carol, sister-in-law, Jeannette Shafer, sister-in-law, Pat Deshaies and brother-in-law, Jean Deshaies and wife Jennifer, along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Robert Groleau and brother-in-law, Ron Deshaies.

Ron was a man of honor, love, and joy. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace, Ron.
