Ronald C. Martin born in Manchester on January 8, 1950, at the age of 75, died July 23rd, 2025 at his residence by the side of his loving wife, Madeleine.
He was the son of Joseph and Evelyn Martin.
He grew up in the city of Manchester and graduated from St. Anthony High School. He proceeded to serve his country as an Air Force mechanic prior to joining the Manchester Fire Department.
He proudly served as a firefighter for 28 years reaching the status of Lieutenant. Affectionately known as “Shamu” on the department, Ron had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for his culinary expertise across the stations he served at.
He enjoyed gardening, cooking, music and playing the ukulele.
He had a passion for nature, birds and loved the hot weather.
His jokes, wittiness, greenthumb, cooking, kindness, mechanical prowess and wisdom will be deeply missed and cherished.
He was predeceased by his parents and his children, Jayson and Jennifer.
Family members include his wife of nearly 50 years, Madeleine; his son, Jonathan, and wife, Erin; his grandchildren, Blake, Lindsey and Kellen; his siblings and their spouses, Lorraine and Don, Thomas and Rea, and Linda and Don; his brother-in-law, Andy, and wife, Kristen; and his many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Per his wishes, there will be no public calling hours. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 30th at 11 am in the chapel at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
Donations may be made in his memory to support the Manchester Firemen’s Relief Association.
