Ronald R. Therrien passed away on October 1, 2023, a longtime resident of Bedford, NH. He was born on July 31, 1937, to Robert and Lucienne Therrien in Manchester, NH.
As a child, Ron attended St. George Grammar School and graduated from Bishop Bradley High School, where he developed lifelong friendships. After high school, Ron joined the National Guard for 4 years.
Ron had an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age, selling hot dogs in the mills to workers. He also developed a passion for real estate, buying and selling properties from a young age. Ron first started his career in the clothing industry working at Stuart’s Department store and later was the general manager at Lord’s Department Store. Eventually, he started his own business, owning and operating 36 women’s clothing stores all over the Northeast, including Lady Pauline’s and Smartlook.
Ron was also very active in his community, serving on many civic groups and fundraising campaigns in Manchester. As a member of Jaycee’s, he was a committee member for the Annual Junior Miss Pageant. An avid golfer, Ron enjoyed being a member of the Manchester Country Club for many years.
Ron moved many times in his lifetime, with Boca Raton being his favorite location. In Florida, Ron continued to sell real estate. He held his real estate license in Florida to the day of his passing, always wanting to have it in case an opportunity to invest arose.
Carrying on his legacy, are Ron's children, Deborah Leafe Ward and her husband Tony Ward of Bedford, Michael Therrien of Manchester, Scott Therrien and his wife Jan Therrien of Laguna Niguel, CA, Dr. Thomas Therrien and his wife Annamarie Therrien of Windsor, CO, and Jenny Huard and her husband Alex Huard of Goffstown, his sisters Janet Dubuc and Elaine Poore, and his lifelong friends and former spouses, Pauline Therrien and Diane Harty. In his most treasured role, Ron was the proud grandfather to 24 grandchildren and great grandchildren. His beloved grandchildren are Jessica, Joe, Brianna, Marissa, Joshua, Jordan, Paige, Hayley, Lia, Noah, Ben, Haydn, Shea, and Cohen, and his great grandchildren are Liam, Gunnar, Gavin, Gianna, Eva, Adelaide, Jude, Lydia, Lilah, and Jacob. Ron was predeceased by his loving daughter Candice Huard.
SERVICES: A calling hour will be held at Lambert Funeral Home, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, at 10 am on Monday October 9th followed immediately by a service at 11 am at the funeral home.
