She was born in Wakefield, MA, on December 19, 1913, the daughter of Joseph and Irene (Filoramo) Puglisi. She was educated in the Wakefield school system. She had resided in Manchester for 55 years prior to moving to Connecticut 6 years ago.
A very active lady, Rose was employed by a variety of businesses throughout her career. She had worked as a seamstress and in sales for Modern Bride, Pandora, Sturbridge Yankee Workshop, A&P Food Store, and most recently for the Fuel Assistance office in Manchester. She had also volunteered at the Elliot Hospital.
She enjoyed telephoning to talk to family and friends who meant the world to her. She was an avid gardener, an extraordinary cook, and remained sharp-minded until the end.
She was predeceased by her husband Thomas A. Whall in 1978, one son Thomas J. Whall in 2006, and one daughter Bernice Murray in 1992.
Members of her family include a daughter, Catherine Whall Smith of Chaplin, CT; one son, David Whall of West Hartford, CT; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces, and cousins.
The funeral liturgy took place in the funeral home chapel on August 30, 2007 with retired Rev. George Desjardins officiating. Burial followed in Pine Grove Cemetery, Manchester.
