Roy Cicale (age 90) of Manchester, NH entered eternity on October 18th following a brief illness.
Born in Brooklyn New York, Roy was a Kingston, NY resident for 60+ years and a Korean War Era veteran, with a long career as a Programming Manager for IBM. In the military, he trained carrier pigeons at Fort Monmouth, NJ. His IBM team developed the SABRE system for airline reservations in the early 1960s.
He chose Early Retirement at age 55 and enjoyed the fruits of his labor for many years, spending time with family and friends. His interests included carpentry, gardening, working crossword puzzles, reading mysteries, and swimming, boating and motorcycling in and around the Hudson Valley.
He was a faithful and tireless caregiver for his beloved wife Mary Elizabeth Cicale of Kingston, NY, who predeceased him in 2018.
He is survived by three devoted daughters: Virginia "Ginny" Provost (Stephen Provost), Diane Rolfe (R.C. Rolfe), and Mary R. Cicale; three grandsons and their wives: Mike Provost (Stacia Anderson), Chip Provost (Jill Provost) and James Rolfe (Lauren Narosky-Rolfe); and two great-grandchildren, Mason and Isabelle Provost. He was predeceased in 1994 by an infant granddaughter, Anne Elizabeth Provost of Manchester, NH.
Funeral Liturgy will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 265 S. Main St., Manchester NH on Monday, October 25th at 10AM. Private interment will be scheduled at a later time. Arrangements are being made by Lambert Funeral Home, Manchester, NH.
