Ruth C. (Isabelle) Lavoie, 73, of Manchester, died January 8, 2004, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Manchester, November 13, 1930, she was the daughter of Theodore and Alphonsine (Lussier) Isabelle. She was a lifelong resident of this city.
Mrs. Lavoie worked as a nurse's aid in the maternity unit at Catholic Medical Center for more than 20 years.
She loved bingo, knitting, crocheting afghans for her children, spending her son in-law's inheritance, and wintering in Florida. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She was the widow of Armand Lavoie.
Family members include five daughters, Elizabeth Plante of Manchester, Lynda Gibbons of Hampton, Joyce Dawe of Haverhill, MA, Carol Trahan of Manchester, and Michelle Hoover of Orange Park, CA.; a son, William Gelinas of Stratham; three step children, Ralph Lavigne, Dianne St. Cyr, and Cheryl Ann Ross; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; a sister, Rose Allaire of Manchester; nieces and nephews.
After cremation, a memorial mass was celebrated Monday January 12, 2004 at Parish of the Transfiguration, Kelly St., Manchester. Urn burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
