He was born in Hartwick, NY on February 21, 1929 to Van Cott and Helen (Mercier) Duncan.
He graduated from Kimball Union Academy in Meriden and attended Syracuse University and Worcester Polytech before serving in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1950 to 1953. He later graduated Magna Cum Laude from Boston University with a degree in Journalism and Public Relations.
Sanford worked in marketing and sales at Burrows Corporation and Memorex Corporation for many years before starting his own business, The NH Business Journal Magazine. He retired in 1994.
He was predeceased by his parents and his oldest daughter, Sandra R. Duncan.
He is survived by his son, Dana S. Duncan of Manchester and a daughter, Donna D. Humphreys and her husband, Charles, of Cohasset, MA.
SERVICES: Services are private and at the convenience of the family. Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester is assisting the family with arrangements.
