Sara "Teri" Valgean, 87, of Goffstown passed peacefully on January 29, 2016 at home with her son and daughter in law by her side.
She was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 25, 1928, the daughter of Antonio and Maria Lorefice of Sicily, Italy. Sara was educated in the Brooklyn school system. She began her career as a licensed beautician on the SS United States passenger liner from NY to Europe where she met and married the father of her two sons, Cpt. Bradford T. Herrick Jr. in August 1960 and resided in Norwalk, CT before moving to Mission Viejo, CA.
Teri had a passion for hair, nails and fashion. Those who knew Teri knew she enjoyed and embraced life. She enjoyed traveling, dining, movies, theatres and reading.
She was predeceased by her late husband's, Bradford T. Herrick Jr. and James Valgean; her son, Bradford T. Herrick III; a sister, Matilda "Tilly" Lorefice; brothers, Paul Lorefice and Charlie Lorefice, and nephew, Anthony Garafolo.
Family includes her son, Thomas Anthony Herrick and his wife, Michelle, of Goffstown; a sister, Connie Johansen of Florida; nieces, Patrice Lorefice, Therese Rota, Lynda Lorefice-Daniels, Gina Lorefice and Mary Hall-Arel and her husband, John; and nephews, Paul Lorefice Jr. and his wife, Maria, Mathew Solomeno, Johnny Rota, Darren Johansen and Steven Lorefice all of New York and New Jersey; several step children and step grand children of Orange County, CA and many close family friends of NH, MA, OH, CA and Florida.
A memorial service celebrating her life was held on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory , 1799 Elm St., Manchester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
