Sharon Jeanne Crowder, 59, of Manchester, died December 19, 2006, at Concord Hospice House, after a courageous year long battle with cancer.
She was born in Lynn, MA, January 15, 1947, and was the daughter of Dorothea E. (Atkinson) Georgeoplous and the late Harold J. Pollard. She attended Lynn, MA public schools and was a graduate of Lynn English High School, and the Massachusetts School of Art in Boston.
She worked as a social worker for Health and Human Services and helped organize the W.I.C. program in Lynn, MA. During her years as a social worker she provided help for many people in many communities. She was always dedicated to taking care of others and making sure they got a fair shake.
She was a talented artist, quilter and tutor. She was a loving and caring person who was liked and loved by everyone who knew her.
Family members include her mother, Dorothea, and step father, Steven Georgeoplous, of Raymond, NH; four children, Andrew C. Ellis, of Manchester, NH, Matthew J. Ellis, of Sante Fe, NM, Rebecca Larson, of Dickson, TN, and Joshua R. Pickett, of Lynn, MA; 6 grandchildren; two brothers, Thomas K. Pollard, of Washington, NJ, and James W. Pollard, of Yuma. AZ; a sister, Gail M. Besaw, of Las Vegas, NV; two step brothers, Steven W. Georgeoplous, of Hampton, NH, and David A. Georgeoplous, of Exeter, NH; several aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She also leaves her best friend, Christine Bond. She was predeceased by a sister, Eileen Sandel.
The funeral was held Friday December 29, 2006 in St. Pius X Church, 575 Candia Rd., Manchester.
