Henniker

Shelley Greenglass, of Henniker NH, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, on March 14th 2025. She was surrounded by family at Granite Hospice House in Concord NH.

She was born in Boston MA on October 7, 1958, and was the daughter of Jeremiah Greenglass and Ina (Simon) Greenglass.

Shelley grew up in Brookline and Framingham MA before moving to Henniker NH where she resided.

A proud graduate of Framingham North High School, class of 1976, she was a star catcher on the Framingham North Spartans softball team. She also played on the field hockey, basketball, and volleyball teams. After high school she continued to play as a catcher on the Framingham Flames and Marlboro softball teams.

Shelley spent most of her career working with animals. She was the founder of Weare Animal Guardians (WAG), the animal control officer for Weare NH, and the shelter manager for The Manchester Animal Shelter when she retired. Shelley was passionate about animals and will be greatly missed by her co-workers and volunteers in the animal field.

After retirement, she volunteered as a coach for The NH Diamond Gems, a traveling girls softball team. She loved her 14U girls and softball family, and took pride in seeing the team grow their skills and love the game as much as she did.

Shelley and her wife Caitlin were moms to their two German Shepherds, Bella and Kala, plus their Bulldog Floki, and cat Sophie Judith.

She loved adventures with her friends and family. Besides her love for animals she loved to travel. She was an avid cruiser, had fun on road trips ,camping with her wife Caitlin , and casino hopping in Las Vegas and Foxwoods.

She was a devoted fan of her beloved Boston Celtics, and all Boston Sports teams.

Shelley is survived by her wife Caitlin (Russell) Greenglass of Henniker NH, her brother Barry Greenglass of Framingham MA, her sister Laura (Greenglass) Johnson of Henniker NH, her niece Maureen (Greenglass) Tolan and husband David Tolan of Framingham MA, parents of her great nephew Hawk, her nephew Zack Coughlin and his wife Nicole of Northwood NH, and their daughter Cameron(Cam).

She was predeceased by her parents.

Services: Friends and Family will honor Shelley with a graveside service at 11:00am at Pine Grove Cemetery, 765 Brown Ave in Manchester NH, followed by a celebration of life at The Alpine Club in Manchester on 175 Putnam St in Manchester.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Aware NH.
