Sister Mary Rose Beauvais, 93, of the Precious Blood of Manchester passed away on May 4th, 2026.
She was born on April 1, 1933 in Haverhill, MA to parents John Paul and Lena E. (Bellemare) Beauvais. Sister entered religious life on July 16, 1954. She received her habit on April 30, 1956 and took her perpetual vows on June 13, 1959. Sister Mary Rose Beauvais was the second oldest of eleven children. She attended public schools until sixth grade, when her family moved to Manchester, New Hampshire in 1945. Sister graduated from West High School and was known to her classmates as a “ray of sunshine”. Before entering the Monastery of the Precious Blood in 1954, she embraced life with energy and joy. Sister was a cheerleader, a majorette, and loved dancing alongside her very talented family. In her youth, she became a semi-professional roller skating dance champion.
However, Sister discovered her true calling in her Catholic Faith. Guided by her deep love of God, she chose to leave the world behind and embrace a life of total self-giving through prayer, silence and solitude along with caring for the needs of those who sought temporal or spiritual help. Sister had a special gift for listening and offering comfort. Her heart was open to all and will be forever remembered for her beautiful smile, which never failed to bring warmth and loving concern to everyone she met.
In every sense of the word, Sister Mary Rose was blessing to her lifelong friends, family members and monastic community.
Sister is survived by her brothers, Richard and Noel and one sister, Suzie. Along with several nieces and nephews and her religious community.
