Sonja A. Poukstas, 92, a longtime resident of Nashua, NH, died August 1, 2016 at the NH Veterans Home in Tilton after a period of declining health. She had been a resident there the past 2 years.
She was born in Cambridge, MA May 12, 1924 the daughter of Joseph and Annie (Netchkofska) Ratcheski.
Sonja served in the US Navy during World War II.
She was predeceased by a son, Jonathan Poukstas.
Family members include her four children, Joseph Maynard of NH, Jeffrey Maynard of Burlington, MA, Judy Maynard of Massachusetts and Jeannette Grace of Candia, NH; many grandchildren.
Burial with military honors took place on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Edgewood Cemetery, 107 Amherst St., Nashua, NH.
Lambert Funeral Home and Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, was in charge of arrangements.
