Sophie C. Champagne

Sophie C. Champagne, 95, of Manchester, died December 5, 2006, at Ridgewood Center in Bedford, after a period of declining health.

She was born in Manchester, May 16, 1911, and was the daughter of Francis and Caroline (Rympala) Kuliga. She had been a Manchester resident all of her life and a member of the former St. George Church for many years.

She had worked at Waumbec Mills.

She was married to Joseph Champagne, who died in 1979.

Family members include three children, Joan Marshall of Pembroke, NH, Pauline Belanger of Bedford, NH, and Frank Champagne of Manchester; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; a sister, Blanche Szopa of Manchester; three brothers, John Kuliga, Stanley Kuliga, both of Hooksett, and Frederick Kuliga of Manchester; nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Saturday December 9, 2006 in St. Catherine Church, corner of Hemlock and Webster Sts. Burial was in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
