Sophie Sartorio

She was born in Troy, NH, on March 2, 1924, the daughter of Fred H. and Sophie (Revell) Lang. Her husband Francis Sartorio, whom she met while attending nursing school, was the love of her life for 65 wonderful years.

She graduated from Troy High School and then completed the nursing program at the Elliot Hospital School of Nursing in Keene, NH. She worked as a registered nurse at the Elliot Community Hospital later named the Cheshire Hospital in Keene.

She took time out to raise her three children and returned to nursing part-time until her retirement.

Sophie then spent the next 25 years enjoying her retirement with her husband and many good friends in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

She loved walking the beach daily with her husband and collecting sand dollars for her family. She was also an avid reader and skier in her life.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who adored her family.

Sophie was an independent energetic person who remained active until her final days.

Sophie's family wishes to thank the entire staff at the Hanover Hill Health Care Center, the Carlyle Place assisted living facility for the wonderful care and compassion given to Sophie and her family while she was a resident there and to the Visiting Nurse Association for their care and assistance.

Sophie leaves her loving husband of 65 years, Francis Sartorio of Bedford; her daughter, Donna Forseze of Hooksett and her children Marc and Sarah Gravel; her son, Scott Sartorio and his wife Lori and their two children Scott and Erica; a great-grandson Raymond; her daughter Laurie and her husband Sean McNabb; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were private.
