Sister Alix-Marie Cabana, pm, 89, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, died June 7, 2026. She was born in Saco, ME on March 27, 1937, to Albert and Yvonne (Lizotte) Cabana. She made her religious profession on August 15, 1958 and served for 67 years.
She obtained her BA in Music at Rivier University, and at University of Maine and Our Lady of the Elms, in Chicopee, MA. She taught in various elementary schools in Maine and Massachusetts. And at the Academy in Methuen, MA. She spent 31 years in France as the main musician and liturgist. She also spent 5 years in Sherbrooke, Canada, where she helped various services, especially in liturgy. When she returned to the USA Province, she was assigned to work as a team member at the Marie Joseph Spiritual Center in Biddeford, ME.
She retired at the Good Shepherd Convent in Biddeford, ME in 2023 and in 2025 at St. Joseph II Residence in Manchester, NH.
She is mourned by her sisters Margaret Bolduc and Paulette LaBrecque, a nephew Kevin Bolduc and other nieces and nephews.
She is pre-deceased by her sister Jeanne Scribner, and two brothers, Albert and Robert.
A visitation will be held on Friday (6/19) from 9:30 to 10:20 a.m. followed immediately at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial, all at Resurrection Chapel of St. Marie Residence, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester. Private burial will be in Presentation of Mary Cemetery in Hudson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Presentation of Mary Retirement Fund, 495 Mammoth Road, Manchester, NH 03104.
