Sr. Dorothy Jacob, PM, (Sr. Sainte-Marie-Estelle), 92, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, died March 31, 2018 at her residence.
She was born in Hooksett on March 1, 1926 to Leon and Alice (Duhaime) Jacob.
She made her religious profession in 1948 and earned a bachelor's degree from Catholic Teachers College in Rhode Island. She later taught in various elementary schools in Rhode Island and New Hampshire.
Sr. Jacob served in the Philippines for 32 years as a teacher and high school principal until she was named Director of Formation. She retired to Hudson in 2001 and to St. Joseph Residence II in Manchester in 2007.
She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, Robert, Lionel, Oscar, Henry and Ernest; and her sisters, Rachel Begin, Gertrude Therrien, Gloria Camire and Eva Janelle.
The family includes three siblings, Raymond Jacob and his wife, Therese, of Bedford and Beatrice Bedard and Estelle Roy and her husband, Raymond, all of New Hampshire; and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Thursday, April 5, 2018 in the Resurrection Chapel of St. Marie Residence, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester. Private burial will be in Presentation of Mary Cemetery in Hudson.
