   Sr. Françoise Savoie, CSC, (Sr. Mary Pierrette), a Sister of Holy Cross for 63 years, was born in Gonic in August of 1943.  She left this earthly life, too quickly, on February 23, 2024.

   Sr. Frances was a foreign missionary in Peru for 34 years and one of the foundresses of the Holy Cross Peruvian Missions.  She touched the lives of many people, especially the Aymaran population of Puno and Tacna.  She was a survivor of a Peruvian airplane crash in 1988.

   Sr. Frances held many administrative positions throughout her lifetime and was also instrumental in the planning and overseeing of many constructions throughout those 34 years including a sewing center, libraries, homes, classrooms, residences for abused women and for college students.

   Prior to leaving for Peru, she taught school in Massachusetts at New Bedford and Springfield and in New Hampshire at Franklin and Nashua, where she also served as principal and vice-principal.

   She was predeceased by her parents, Ephraim and Cecile (Desmarais) Savoie and a sister, Theresa Robinson. 

   Beside her religious family, Sisters of Holy Cross, and her friends, she leaves two brothers, Peter Savoie and his wife, Carlene, and Paul Savoie and his wife, Dr. S. Johnson; two sisters, Rita Brown and her husband, Paul, and Sylvia Cote and her husband, Patrick; and beloved nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.    

   SERVICES:   Calling hours are Friday (3/8) from 2 to 4 p.m. with a memorial prayer at 3 p.m. in the chapel at St. George Manor, 357 Island Pond Rd., Manchester.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday (3/9) at 10 a.m. in the chapel at St. George Manor.  Committal prayers will follow at St. Augustin Cemetery Chapel, South Beech St., Manchester.

   Memorial donations may be made to Sisters of Holy Cross Development Fund, c/o Sisters of Holy Cross, 357 Island Pond Rd., Manchester, NH 03109.

   Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester is assisting with arrangements.
