Sr. Guy-Marie (Yvonne Lamontagne)

Sr. Guy-Marie, pm, (Yvonne Lamontagne), Sister of the Presentation of Mary, 82, of Exeter, England, passed away on October 21, 2018. She was born in Manchester, NH on July 30, 1936 to Dr. Ovide R. and Aloysia (Lemelin) Lamontagne. Sister professed her vows on August 15, 1957.
Sister earned a BA in Education from River University in Nashua, NH and did post-graduate work at the same University for many years. She taught in both elementary and junior high schools in NH and RI. She was also a dedicated school principal at both levels. She worked as a bookkeeper at River University, and held positions of leadership in her community. In 1994 Sister Guy accepted to serve in Exeter, England for 24 years. Her wake and funeral were held in Blessed Sacrament Church, Heavitree, Devon in England. She was buried with Sisters of the Presentation of Mary who served that area.
Sister is survived by her brother, Dr. Ovide A. Lamontagne and sister-in-law, Jeanne Lamontagne of Bedford, NH; her sister, Yolande Caron of Manchester, NH; and sister-in-law, Virginia Lamontagne of Rochester, NH. She is predeceased by her parents, a sister Therese Lamontagne of Manchester and a brother Robert Lamontagne of Rochester, NH. She leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass was celebrated by Father John Vidal at Resurrection Chapel, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester on Saturday, November 17, 2018. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Presentation of Mary Retirement Fund, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester, NH 03104.
