Sr. Ida-Marie Poirier

   Sr. Ida-Marie Poirier, pm (Sr. Lucille Poirier), 96, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, Manchester, died April 5, 2023.

   She was born in Southbridge, MA on May 19, 1926 to Onesiphore and Leda “Ida” (Boisvert) Poirier.  She made her religious profession on February 2, 1960.

   She earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Rivier University and taught at various elementary schools in New Hampshire and Rhode Island.  She also taught at the junior high school level for 23 years.  She retired to St. Joseph Residence in Manchester in 2016.

   Sr. Ida-Marie was predeceased by her parents and four siblings, Stella Proulx, Anita Berthiaume, Rachel Roller and Stanley Poirier.

   She is survived by nieces and nephews and a close friend, Sue Kovac.

   SERVICES: A calling hour is Tuesday (4/11) from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. followed immediately at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial, all at the Resurrection Chapel of St. Marie Residence, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester.  Private burial is at Presentation of Mary Cemetery in Hudson.

   Memorial donations may be made to the Presentation of Mary Retirement Fund.
