Sr. Laurette T. Roy, pm (Sr. Ste. Marie Anne de Jesus), 94, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, died September 9, 2025.
She was born in Manchester on March 25, 1931 to Marcel and Eldiana (Dube) Roy.
She made her religious profession with the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary on February 2, 1951 and served in the congregation for 74 years.
Sr. Laurette earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Education from Rivier University in Nashua. She also studied art at Boston University and Emmanuel College, both in Boston.
For many years she taught and was a principal in various elementary schools in Rhode Island and New Hampshire. She also taught Methods in Art at Rivier University. She was later named Director of Ministries and was Provincial Councilor for 10 years.
Sr. Laurette held many positions in leadership in the congregation. Most of her life was dedicated to Evangelization Through Art, giving lectures and retreats. She also wrote Icons and gave Icon workshops. This was a ministry close to her heart.
Due to ill health, she retired at St. Marie Residence in Manchester in 1999 and at St. Joseph Residence II in 2025.
She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, George Roy.
Sr. Laurette is survived by two sisters, Lucille Chalifour of Manchester and Carmelle Paveglio of Concord and many nieces, nephews and friends.
SERVICES: A visitation is on Friday (9/19) from 9:30 to 10:20 a.m. followed immediately at 10:30 a.m. by a Mass of Christian Burial, all at Resurrection Chapel of St. Marie Residence, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester. Private burial will be in Presentation of Mary Cemetery in Hudson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Presentation of Mary Retirement Fund and mailed to 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester, NH 03104.
