Sr. Liliosa Shea, CSC, (Sr. Mary Liliosa), 89, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, Manchester, died November 9, 2017 at her residence after a brief illness.
She was born in Nashua on January 6, 1928 to Alfred and Lillian (Lavivee) Shea. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1945 and pronounced her final vows in 1952. She served the Congregation for 72 years.
Sr. Liliosa earned her B.A. from Notre Dame College, Manchester, and M.F.A. from Catholic University, Washington, D.C. She was the founder of the Notre Dame College Art Department, where she was a professor of art for 18 years, and also served on the Executive Board of Art Education for the state of NH. Sr. Liliosa taught elementary and high school under the direction of Sisters of Holy Cross in Pembroke, Ontario, Manchester and Somersworth. She taught religious education at St. Pius X Church, Manchester. Sr. Liliosa served her community as a local superior and was a part of the Regional Team. She was also accepted for the 18th edition of "Who's Who in the East". In 1994 she was transferred to St. Albans, VT where she served the parish as a religious educator and pastoral minister. She retired to St. George Manor, Manchester, in 2008.
Sr. Liliosa is survived by cousins. She is predeceased by both parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in the chapel at the Sisters of Holy Cross, 357 Island Pond Rd., Manchester. Burial followed in St. Augustin Cemetery, Manchester.
