Sr. Lucienne Martell, CSC, (Sr. Mary Prosper), 94, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, Manchester, died June 3, 2017 at her residence after a brief illness.
She was born in Alburg, VT on May 14, 1923 to Joseph and Bernadette (Theoret) Martell. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1942 and made her final profession in 1949. She served the congregation for 75 years.
Sr. Lucienne carried out culinary duties in the Convents of Ottawa (Billings Bridge) ONT, and Foliet, ONT; Manchester, Franklin, Rochester, and Nashua, NH: Attleboro, MA and St. Albans, VT. Before retiring to St. George Manor, Manchester, she resided in W. Franklin.
Sr. Lucienne had a great devotion to the Blessed Mother and to St. Therese of Lisieux. She was a member of Central Association of the Miraculous Medal, Link of the Living Rosary, and Apostolate of the Little Flower for many years.
Sr. Lucienne is survived by one nephew.
All services were held on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 in the chapel at the Sisters of Holy Cross, 357 Island Pond Rd., Manchester. They began with a visitation period from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. and a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.
