May 27, 1955 — September 27, 2024

Sr. Pamela Nolan, CSC, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, passed away in Florida on September 27, 2024, at the age of 69.

Born on May 27, 1955 in Attleboro, MA, she was the daughter of Walter and Rita (Paquin) Nolan. She is predeceased by her parents and her brother-in-law, Walter Rapczak. She is survived by three siblings, Patricia Rapczak of Riverview, FL, Stephen Nolan and his wife, Linda, of Ruskin, FL, and Edward Nolan of San Diego, CA; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and many relatives and friends.

Sr. Pam entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1978 and pronounced her final vows in 1986 at the LaSalette Retreat Center in Attleboro, MA. Her forty years of ministry in social services began at Baldwin House in Cornwall, Ontario. Upon her return to the United States, Sr. Pam continued her ministry at Greater Manchester Mental Health. Called to serve in Florida, she ministered there at New Life Dwelling Place in Thonotosassa and 24 years with Catholic Charities where she served, at different times as Director of Elderly Housing, Director of HUD Housing and Director of HIV/AIDS Services.

Sr. Pam saw people as God’s children regardless of race, color, religion, sexual orientation, people with physical or mental disabilities. All were equal in her eyes, and all were greeted in the same warm loving manner, with a “How are you? How can I help?”

In addition to her commitment at Catholic Charities, Sister Pam served on the Leadership Team of the Sisters of Holy Cross, U.S. Region, for six years.
