Sr. Pauline Lafond, pm

   Sr. Pauline Lafond, pm, (Sr. Aline-de-Marie), 83, of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, died January 31, 2023.

   She was born in Manchester on July 7, 1939 to Adrien and Aline (Desmarais) Lafond.  She made her religious profession on August 15, 1960 and served the religious community for over 62 years.

   Sr. Pauline earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Rivier University in Nashua, then taught in elementary schools in New Hampshire for 22 years.  She later worked at NH Catholic Charities as assistant director for the Ministry of Persons with Disabilities, especially the deaf.  She was also part of the Enrichment Team at nursing homes for 12 years.  She retired to St. Joseph Residence in Manchester in 2019.

   She was predeceased by her parents and a brother, Donald.

   Sr. Pauline is survived by a brother, Norman Lafond; a sister-in-law, Rita Lafond; nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

   SERVICES:  Services are private.  Private burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Manchester.

   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Presentation of Mary Retirement Fund, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester, NH 03104.
