Sr. Pauline Morneau, CSC, (Sr. Pauline of Jesus), 89, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, Manchester, died July 12, 2023 at her residence.
She was born in Springfield, MA on March 5, 1934, the youngest of 14 children, to Albert and Eva (Vaillancourt) Morneau. She served the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross for 70 years, entering the Congregation in 1952 and making her final vows in 1960.
Sr. Pauline earned a bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame College in Manchester and a master’s degree from Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA. She taught at elementary and junior high schools in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and was principal at St. Joseph School in Attleboro, MA.
She served in provincial administration for seven years, studied in Rome, Italy for one year, then served as a member of the formation team in Montreal, Quebec, Canada for six years. She later became executive director of Assumption Communications in Worcester, MA then served in general administration in Montreal.
Sr. Pauline returned to Manchester where she was appointed as administrator and superior at St. George Manor and as administrative assistant to the regional team until her retirement in 2016. She resided at St. George Manor since 2017.
She was predeceased by her parents and all of her siblings.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews who were the treasures of her heart.
SERVICES: A time for remembrance will be on Thursday (8/3) from 2 to 4 p.m. at St. George Manor Chapel, 357 Island Pond Rd., Manchester. A funeral liturgy will be on Friday (8/4) at 10 a.m. at St. George Manor Chapel.
