Sr. Solange Marcoux

Sr. Solange Marcoux, PM, (Sr. Jeanne-Francoise), 101, of the Sisters of the Presentation Mary in Manchester, NH, died March 8, 2016 at her residence.
She was born in Oakland, RI on May 18, 1914 to Auguste and Oringa (Vanasse) Marcoux. She made her religious profession in 1943.
Sr. Solange earned a bachelor's degree in Education from Catholic Teachers' College in Providence, RI and a master's degree in Administration from Rivier College in Nashua, NH. She taught in elementary schools and served as principal at some of those schools in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. She later was librarian at St. Vincent de Paul in Coventry, RI until her retirement in 1990.
She was predeceased by her parents and seven siblings, Mathias Marcoux, Bertrand Marcoux, Laure Peppler, Jeanne Lawrence, Marguerite Robitaille, Cecile Rainey and Jacqueline Auger.
The family includes three siblings, Laurier Marcoux and his wife, Josie, of Pascoag, RI, Albert Marcoux and his wife, Doris, of Cumberland, RI and Camille Connell of Harrisville, RI; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Monday, March 14, 2016 in the Resurrection Chapel of St. Marie Residence, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester, NH. Burial will be in Presentation of Mary Cemetery in Hudson, NH.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Presentation of Mary Retirement Fund, 495 Mammoth Rd., Manchester, NH 03104.
