Sister Therese Rioux, CSC (Sister Mary Clement), 95, died August 25, 2022, at her residence.
She entered the congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1943 and made her final profession in 1950. She served the Congregation for 76 years.
Sister Therese was born in Nashua, NH on April 29, 1927, the daughter of Clement and Modeste (St. Laurent) Rioux.
Sr. Therese is survived by a niece, two nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Sister Therese earned a BA from Notre Dame College and an MA from Providence College. She taught in elementary parochial schools and high schools under the direction of the Sisters of Holy Cross in North Grosvenordale, CT, New Bedford, MA, Manchester and Nashua, NH. Sister Therese was involved in Religious Education in St. Albans, VT and Norwich, CT. In her later years, Sister Therese served her community as a CNA at Holy Cross Health Center.
Sister Therese retired to St. George Manor in 2004 and due to declining health to Holy Cross Health in 2008.
Sister Therese will be remembered for her great love of God and her faithfulness to her Holy Cross Community and to her family.
SERVICES: There will be a wake service at 3 pm on Wednesday August 31st at St. George Manor, 357 Island Pond Road, Manchester. A funeral service will be held at 9 am on Thursday September 1st in the chapel at St. George Manor. Burial will follow at St. Augustin Cemetery on S. Beech St., Manchester.
