He was born in Manchester on June 19, 1918, to Ludwik and Barbara (Kozien) Garczynski. He was a lifelong Manchester resident and was educated in the local schools.
Mr. Garczynski was a veteran of World War II, having served as a private in the U.S Army. His battles and campaigns took place in Rome, North Apennines, and the Po Valley. He was awarded a bronze star medal and three bronze service stars.
He worked as a foreman with Waumbec Mills for many years and retired in 1978.
He was a communicant of Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Cathedral and a member of the Polish American Veterans, TTK, and the Polar Bear Association of World War II, Infantry Division.
He was predeceased by his wife of 33 years, Josephine (Piecuch) Garczynski.
The family includes his daughter, Carol Palmer Ryder of Manchester; a son, Stanley J. Garczynski of Ft. Myers, Florida; one brother, John Garczynski of Tilton, NH; a sister, Wanda Grecoe of North Andover, Mass; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also predeceased by three brothers: Stephen Garczynski, Matthew Garczynski, and Walter Garczynski
He will be remembered as a loving and dedicated father and a wonderful grandfather to his grandchildren: Bryce Palmer, Brenna and Ava Ryder, and Michael and Matthew Garczynski. His family was the center of his life and his favorite activity was being with them.
He was a New England sports fan and enjoyed gardening, reading, cooking, following the stock market, and history.
Calling hours are Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., corner of North Street, Manchester.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 9 am in Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Cathedral, corner of Pearl and Union streets, Manchester. Burial will follow at the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Cathedral Cemetery in Goffstown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Holy Trinity PNC Cathedral Restoration Fund, 166 Pearl St., Manchester, NH 03104.
