Born in Waltham, MA on April 29, 1948, he was the son of Lothrop and Josephine (McElhiney) Coldwell. He grew up in Woburn, MA and later lived in Londonderry 27 years before moving to Manchester seven years ago.
During the Vietnam War he served active duty on the front lines with the US Marine Corps.
Mr. Coldwell worked in sales as an independent contractor for many years.
IN HIS LIFE: The family includes his wife of 41 years, Nancy (Cosgrove) Coldwell of Manchester; four daughters, Susan Cote and Jill Chisholm and her husband, Ken, all of Wilmington, MA, Christine Coldwell of Portland, ME and Amy Warner and her husband, Chris, of Newmarket; four grandsons, Brett, Matthew and A. J. Chisholm, and Reid Cote; a sister, Janice Murphy of Jamestown, RI; three brothers, David Coldwell of Tyngsboro, MA, Dennis Coldwell of Rutland, ME and James Coldwell of Manchester; and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, November 2, 2009 at St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Committal prayers with military honors were also held Monday at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Highway, Boscawen.
