Born in Amsterdam, NY on May 2, 1943, he was the son of George and Jennie (Boggia) Kehas. He lived in Goffstown and Manchester for many years.
He was a graduate of Phillips Andover Academy and Yale University and captained the baseball team at both institutions. He also did post graduate studies at the University of New Hampshire.
Mr. Kehas formerly owned and operated Sleep Boutique and Whitney House of Furniture both in Hooksett for many years. He had also been a faculty member in the math department at Memorial High School for several years.
He was a former president of the New Hampshire Lawn Tennis Association. He enjoyed the outdoors, including hiking and birdwatching.
IN HIS LIFE: The family includes his wife of 38 years, Elinor (Ferretti) Kehas of Manchester; four children, Stephanie M. Kehas of Manchester, Dr. David Kehas and his wife, Alethea, of Bow, Dr. Christina J. Kehas of California and Arthur J. Kehas of Oregon; two grandchildren; a sister, Janice Kelleigh of Amherst; two brothers, George Kehas of Hooksett and David Kehas of Oregon; an uncle, Dr. Chris D. Kehas and his wife, Helen, of Manchester; and cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Roberta Kehas.
The funeral was held Monday, June 29, 2009 at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 600 Hanover St., Manchester. Fr. Andrew Mahalares officiated. Graveside committal prayers followed at Pine Grove Cemetery, Calef Rd., Manchester.
