Stephen Maurice Powell

June 5, 1976 — March 7, 2024

Manchester

A beautiful life of love and caring came to a close on Thursday, March 7, 2024, when our beloved one, Mr. Stephen Maurice Powell of Manchester, New Hampshire answered the Master’s call and left with an angel of God to live in his heavenly home, that home that is free of sickness, pain and sorrow.

Son of the late Mary Etta Bonner-Powell and the late Rudolph Briggins, Sr., he was born on June 5, 1976 in Lynn, Massachusetts.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sheila Dephine Powell, Marylyn Briggins, Veronica M. Gaines and his brothers, Timothy Lamar Powell, Donald Ray Briggins and Rudolph Briggins, Jr.

He was educated through the Lynn Public Schools.  Stephen had a passion for sports, especially basketball and Football. He loved cheering on his daughters, and watched them play and excel with soccer over the years. He also was an avid gamer, playing call of duty with those close to him. Stephen also liked trips to Foxwoods, fishing, riding his sport bike and cruising in his Mercedes. He was a talented chef and his recipes will be cherished.  Stephen was a fierce competitor and contributing member of back-to-back state championships at Lynn Classical High School (1992-1993).

Stephen was a loving father, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, in-law and friend.  He was a source of love, inspiration, encouragement, joy and happiness for all who knew him.  We loved him dearly and He will forever be missed.

Left to cherish many fond and loving memories is his loving family:

His daughters Mya Pierrette Powell and Nevaeh Cay Powell of Manchester, New Hampshire; nine brothers Warren B. Powell of  Rhode Island; Chris Briggins of Connecticut; Jerry (Caprice) Odom of Cleveland, Ohio; Marvin (Maxine) Moore  of Fairfield, Alabama; Kevin Jones of Dracut, Massachusetts; Armstead Brown of Bellingham, Massachusetts; Sheldon Brown of Westborough, Massachusetts; Christian Niles of Atlanta, Georgia; eight sisters, Sharon Wyatt of Bessemer Alabama; Wanda (Eddie) Tyus of Fairfield, Alabama; Natavia (Leroy) Mahoney of Haverhill, Massachusetts; Tracy Gainey of Fayetteville, North Carolina; Cynthia Ravizee, Nichole Brown, Annette (Willie) Peterson, Lisa Vaught all of Lynn, Massachusetts; Uncle Joseph (Carol) Brown of Lynn, Massachusetts; three aunts, Juanita Bonner of Bronx, New York; Gwendolyn (Wilson) B.
