Steve Lis, 52, of Manchester, passed away unexpectedly April 18, 2016.
He was born in Manchester September 21, 1964 to Marian and Halina (Trzcinska) Lis. He was a lifelong resident of this city.
Steve owned Lis-Fix, a jack-of-all trades company where he took personal pride in all of his projects, ensuring they were completed to his high standards of perfection. He had worked 20 years at the Hillsborough County Superior Court building and later worked for Southern New Hampshire University, a place that Steve believed to be the ideal work environment. He truly loved his job there. Steve was a low-key and trusted individual. He had a wonderful sense of humor and handled all situations with diplomatic ease, enabling people to see both sides of a situation. He was an avid collector of clocks and all forms of art from up-coming artists. He was also a patron of furniture masters.
Steve was a devoted son of Halina Lis, of Manchester; brother of Sophie Guiliano and husband Joseph of Manchester, and Teresa Lis, of Maine; uncle of Jay and Michelle Guiliano and Sara Lis, and beloved great-uncle of Ben and Anna. He was predeceased by a brother, John Lis.
He cherished his mother and was always thoughtful and affectionate in her care throughout his life. He doted on his great niece and nephew and took great interest in all their activities.
Steve is remembered for saying often, "Mom is the prize of my life, always backing me up." In reality, Steve was a fixture in all of our lives and he will be greatly missed by all. We will carry his memory in our hearts always.
The funeral was held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Lambert Funeral Home and Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester, NH. Burial followed in St. Hedwig Cemetery, Bedford, NH.
