Susan H. Paris

August 7, 1950 — April 30, 2025

Susan Harriet Paris, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born on August 7, 1950, in Boston, she was the beloved daughter of Lillian and Eli Sacks.

It was on the sands of Nantasket Beach that Sue met the man who would become her lifelong partner, Steven Andrew Paris, the cherished son of Bernice and Harold Paris. The pair married on August 23, 1970 and moved to North Carolina where Susan pursued her degree from Duke University. Their love story spanned five decades and was built on a foundation of deep connection, humor, and a shared passion for family and tradition.

Sue’s professional journey reflected her love of people and creativity. She began her career as a teacher in North Carolina and Pennsylvania before following her passion for design and aesthetics into successful roles in interior design and jewelry sales. A lover of games, she found joy and camaraderie in mahjong and bridge, and later in life discovered her green thumb, delighting in the beauty of her flourishing garden.

Above all, Sue’s greatest pride and joy was her family. She was a deeply loving and engaged mother to Dara Warn and her late son-in-law Daniel Warn of Needham; Craig Paris and his wife Mary Kate of Hingham; and Daniel Paris and his wife Jody of Medfield. She was a radiant and devoted grandmother to Eli, Wyatt, and Rowan Warn; Nadia and Vera Paris; and Sam and Lyla Paris. Whether orchestrating Cape Cod treasure hunts and costume parties or gathering the family for beloved holidays in Mexico, Sue had a remarkable gift for turning ordinary moments into extraordinary memories. Her presence made every occasion feel magical.

Sue was known for her impeccable style, infectious laughter, and razor-sharp wit. Her warmth lit up every room, and her honesty and determination were both inspiring and refreshing. She had a unique ability to bring people together, to celebrate life's moments both big and small, and to approach every challenge with strength and grace. She asked for what she wanted—and she usually got it—with a smile and unshakable resolve.

Sue leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love, fierce loyalty, and joyful celebration. She will be missed immeasurably, but her spirit will continue to shine in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory lives on in the stories shared, the traditions upheld, and the love that binds her family together.
