Susan M. Simoneau

Born in Nashua on August 17, 1960, she was the daughter of Robert and Joan (Hawkes) Nicoll.

She grew up in Nashua and began high school at Mt. St. Mary's. Her family then moved to Manchester and she graduated from Trinity High School in 1978. She later earned a degree from the Bauder Fashion College in Florida.

Mrs. Simoneau worked with Designs by Levi's for over 20 years, starting in sales and moving into management. She eventually became the designer for Designs by Levi's stores opening across the country.

The family includes her husband of 25 years, Michael J. Simoneau of Manchester; a daughter, Chelsey E. Simoneau of Manchester; her mother, Joan E. Nicoll of Manchester; her father, Robert E. Nicoll and his wife, Donna of Manchester; a sister, Debra Dunn of Manchester; a brother, Jeffrey J. Nicoll of Holly Springs, NC; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

IN HER LIFE: It was during her high school years that she met Mike Simoneau, the man that was to become her husband, best friend and lifelong partner. In 1992, Sue and Mike's daughter Chelsey was born and their lives became enriched in ways they could not have imagined.

Upon receiving a diagnosis of breast cancer 12 years ago, she vowed not to let it get the best of her, and it didn't. As she always did, Sue displayed a courage that came naturally to her and took on the disease with grace, dignity and determination. She passed away many years later than expected.

Sue, Mike, Chelsey and all in their family want to express their deep felt gratitude to her friends and neighbors who assisted with her care, stayed with her during the most difficult times, helped the family and mostly for their love.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday December 21, 2007 at St. Catherine Church, corner of Webster and Hemlock streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed at Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester.
