Suzanne M. Karatzas

Suzanne M. Karatzas, 68, of Nahant, MA died February 24, 2018 after a period of declining health, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Manchester, NH on June 14, 1949, she was the daughter of Joseph and Lillian (Roy) Maltais. She was a graduate of Central High School, Manchester, NH. She was also a graduate of both Keene State and North Shore Community Colleges, where she received her certificate in psychological counseling.
Suzanne received physical therapy training, working at Jesmond Nursing Home in Nahant for 8 years. She worked at North Shore Medical Center for the Visiting Nurses in Salem, MA for 5 years, as a Psychological Physical Therapist Assistant. She then worked for North Shore Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Salem, MA for 12 ½ years.
Suzanne had a passion for the ocean and enjoyed time spent at the beach. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
Family members include her daughter, Lanni Barbuzzi and her husband James of Manchester, NH; her son Joseph Karatzas and his wife of Nahant, MA; two grand children, Alexa and Vincent Barbuzzi of Manchester, NH; five brothers, Philippe Maltais and wife Sheryl of Seabrook, MA, Denis Maltais of Manchester, NH, Ronald Maltais of Las Vegas, NM, John Maltais and wife Jenny of St. George, ME, and Mark Maltais of New York, NY. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 12 years, Philip T. Karatzas in 2010.
A Committal Service took place on Saturday, May 19, 2018 in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester, NH 03102. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Alzheimer's Assoc., 166 S. River Rd., Suite 201, Bedford, NH 03110.
