Tara L. (Vitelli) Ludwig, 47, of Bedford, NH, formerly of Orange, CT died July 15, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in East Haven, CT on September 27, 1973, she was the daughter of Kathleen (Dowd) Lovanio and Charles H. Vitelli. She was educated in the Orange School system, graduating from Amity High School in 1991. She earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Connecticut and her nursing degree from Fairfield University.
Tara served in a variety of roles across diverse practice settings during the course of a long career in nursing. Most recently, she had served as the school nurse in numerous local school districts including Manchester, Nashua, Bedford and Hollis and was a fierce advocate for her students. She was incredibly creative and enjoyed traveling with her family and was always in tune with the latest fashions. She loved without condition or limitation as a wife, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her greatest joy was being the mother of her two children, she loved them dearly.
Family members include her husband of 20 years, Heinz Ludwig of Bedford; two children, Lukas and Ellie Ludwig, both of Bedford; her mother, Kathleen Lovanio and her husband Joseph of Orange, CT; her beloved sister, Sherri Tessitore and her son Joseph Tessitore of Orange, CT; her uncles and aunts, Donna Dowd, Joseph Dowd, James (Janet) Dowd, Michael Dowd and his partner Tara Raucci, Patricia Altermatt and husband Al, Margaret Mrowka; several cousins and many long-time friends.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Catholic Medical Center for their care and compassion.
Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, corner of North St, Manchester, will be Tuesday from 11 am to 1 pm, followed by a celebration of life to be held at 1 pm in the funeral home chapel.
An Endowed Memorial Scholarship is being established at the Marion Peckham Egan School of Nursing and Health Studies at Fairfield University to provide financial support for students in the MS. Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program. Checks in Honor of Tara may be made out to Fairfield University.
