Thelma N. Lamarre

Thelma Lamarre, a lifelong resident of Manchester died peacefully with family by her side.  Born in Manchester on August 21, 1943, she was the daughter of Richard U. Lamarre and Irene M. (St. Onge) Lamarre.  She attended St. Jean De Baptist grammar school, graduated from Manchester West High School and earned her bachelor’s degree at Notre Dame College in Manchester.

Surviving family members are her brothers, Donald H. Lamarre and wife MaryAnn of Wilmington, NC and Roger A. Lamarre of Manchester.  Nephews, Eric E. Lamarre of France and Richard Lamarre of Raymond, NH; and nieces Elizabeth A. Lamarre of Washington D.C. and Tania Lamarre of Merrimack, NH as well as several great-nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Prior to retirement, Thelma was a middle school teacher at Bow Middle School near Concord, NH.  She had a wonderful rapport with her students; working with other teachers to encourage student participation in school musicals, outdoor adventure activities and even field trips to Canada.

Thelma loved to travel with family and friends and especially her beloved mother.  She explored many countries in Europe and Asia as well as frequent family sailing trips in the Florida Keys, Bahamas and British Virgin Islands.

Calling hours are Thursday, September 15th from 4:00 to 7:00PM at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 16th at 10:00AM in the Parish of Transfiguration on Kelley St. Manchester.

Thelma’s family wholeheartedly thanks the entire staff of the Manchester VNA Hospice Program for the kind, loving care they provided for Thelma during her final days.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Manchester VNA, 1080 Holt Ave., Manchester, NH 03109.

If ever there was a person who always brightened the day, was always positive and never complained; it was our sister Thelma Lamarre.
