Theresa C. Maynard, 95, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, June 20, 2023. She was one of seven siblings now all deceased: Joseph, James, Dennis, Arthur Muise, Francis Martin, and Rose Surrett.
She was born on March 18, 1928 to Joseph and Mary (Babin) Muise in a tiny village of St. Anne de Ruiseau in Southwestern Nova Scotia. Theresa leaves a daughter, Lisa Sottile, her stepson, Brent Maynard and nieces and nephews in Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Massachusetts.
Theresa is the founder of the Consolers of the United Hearts of Jesus and Mary Lay Apostolate on August 15, 1995, the feast of the Assumption of Mary. It was accepted in the church. This apostolate grew to many jurisdictions in Canada, Africa, The United States and elsewhere. Though her love for the Two Hearts and for the salvation of souls her work bore much fruit.
