Theresa L. Corthell

Theresa Landry Corthell, 79, died August 14, 2004 at home with her family by her side after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Manchester, NH on May 17, 1925, the daughter of Francis W. and Blanche (Rousseau) Landry. She had been a lifelong resident of the city.

She was a graduate of Manchester High School Central, Class of 1944, where she performed as lead soprano in numerous operettas, under the direction of William R. McAllaster, supervisor of music.

In her life: She had worked as a stitcher at J.F. McElwain where she met and fell in love with her soul mate, her "sweetie". After leaving J.F. McElwain, she went into electronics with her favorite place of employment being Hastech Inc., where she was employed as an engraver. She was a member of the First Baptist Church on 536 Union St. and enjoyed singing in the choir. She loved to sing, play the piano and organ, as well as draw and write. Her drawing and writing talents came in handy when making signs for "Seventh Heaven".

She was pre-deceased by a brother Jack F. Landry, a grandson Joshua L. Nichols, a son David F. Plumpton, and a granddaughter Heather B. Fletcher.

Family members include her husband of 39 years, Otis F. Corthell; 3 Daughters, Mrs. David (Deborah) Nichols, Mrs. Donald (Diana) Fletcher, and Ms. Darlene Huot; 3 Sons Donald Plumpton and wife Donna, Dennis Plumpton and wife Maria, Drew Plumpton and wife Jeannette; Daughter-in-law Priscilla Plumpton; Grandchildren Jennifer F., Terrylynn, Jessica, Michael, Christopher, Matthew, Jonathan, Timothy, Lindsay, David, Kristen, Bethany, Victoria, Katie, Meghan, and Jennifer P; Great-grandchildren Heather, Adam, and Caleb;

A memorial reception was held on Tuesday, August 17th, 2004 in Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, corner of North St, from 5 to 7pm. A memorial service took place at 7pm in the funeral home chapel, with the Rev. Maurice Lavigne officiating.
