Theresa Lorraine (LeBlanc) Travis, 92, of Manchester, passed away on, October 24, 2017, surrounded by her loving family, after a period of declining health.
Born on September 8, 1925, she was the daughter of Roseanna (Pichette, LeBlanc) Lepage and Alfred LeBlanc in Marlborough, MA. Theresa was raised and educated in Manchester; she attended St. George's High School and graduated from Hesser College with a business degree. She met and married the love of her life at Chimes Café in Manchester, the late Arthur Travis, with whom she shared 62 years of marriage. They called Manchester their home. Later in life they spent summers in Moultonborough, NH and winters in North Fort Meyers, FL.
Affectionately known as "Nana T", family was paramount in her life. She was a dedicated wife, mother, nana, aunt and friend to all. Theresa took great pride in caring for her family and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Theresa enjoyed attending all activities for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoyed crossword puzzles, listening to music, knitting, crocheting and reading. Theresa held membership in the American Legion Auxiliary for many years. She was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church for over 50 years. She will be remembered for her generous heart and love of family and friends. She had a way of making everyone she knew feel special. Her family will miss her dearly.
Theresa is survived by her four children, a daughter, Teresa Ann Joyce of Manchester, a son, Gary Travis, of Manchester, a son, Kevin Travis and his wife Sharon of Bedford and a daughter, Karen Rogers and her husband William Jr. of Manchester.
She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Patrick Joyce Jr. and his wife Lisa, Lori Meservey and her husband Paul, Brendan Joyce, all of Manchester, NH; Kelly Callanan and her husband Philip, of Hopkinton NH, Kristen Roy and her husband Jeremy of East Kingston, NH , Matthew Rogers, of Manchester, NH, Holly Travis of Marblehead, MA; and ten great grandchildren, Molly Meservey, Erin Joyce, Shannon Joyce, Aubrey Roy, Lucy Callanan, Gracie Rogers, Henry Roy, Paisley Callanan, Emerson Roy and Tessa Roy.
Theresa was also predeceased by her parents; her stepfather, Felix LePage; her father and mother-in-law, Arthur and Oda Travis; her son-in-law, Patrick Joyce Sr.; her sister, Priscilla Phaneuf and her husband, Henry Phaneuf; her brothers- in- law and sisters- in- law, James & Julianne Travis, Edward & Judith Meyers and Paul & Patricia Abbott; as well many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and dear friends.
Theresa's family would like to express their thanks to the VNA Hospice staff for the incredible care and empathy they provided Theresa.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Friday, October 27, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Church, 14 Elm St., Manchester. Burial followed at Mount Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Food Pantry at Blessed Sacrament Church in Theresa's name.
