Theresa L. Pierce

Theresa L. Pierce, 84, of Cape Coral, Florida died on Saturday June 13, 2015 at Hope Hospice House in Cape Coral. Mrs. Pierce was born in Boston, MA on July 2, 1930, the daughter of Daniel and Mary (Decker) Crowley. She lived in Massachusetts, and later Bedford, NH. Theresa graduated from St. Mary's High School in Lawrence, MA and Emanuel College in Boston, MA, and later earned a Master Degree in Education from the University of New Hampshire, and a Certificate in Interior Design. She was a high school teacher in Lawrence, MA, Hudson, NH, and the Assistant Director of the Manchester NH Skill Center (now the School of Technology), where she met her husband Duane, of 28 years.

She was a woman of many talents; playing the piano, singing, and performing with others, even recently in the Gulf Coast Village chorus in Cape Coral. Theresa was an accomplished textile and interior designer, creating everything from gowns to furnishings. She enjoyed entertaining, traveling, refurbishing homes with her husband and visiting her extended family.

Theresa is survived by her husband Duane I. Pierce; their children, Timothy Sullivan of Andover, MA, Thomas and Sharon Sullivan of Cape Coral, FL, Sean and Willo Sullivan of Springfield, VT, Peter and Pam Sullivan of Livermore, CA, Kathleen and William Maryman of Charlotte, NC, Christopher and Helen Sullivan of Westborough, MA, John and Sunny Pierce of Girard, KS, Jennifer Pierce of Butte, MT, Diane Pierce Bennett of Overland Park, KS, Jessica Pierce Bryan of Concord, NH, and Edward Pierce of Fremont, NH; her sister, Hope Heath and husband Wally of Windham, NH; their 25 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Mary Decker Crowley; her stepmother Mary Macklin Crowley; and her older sister June and husband Francis Traynor of Windham, NH.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday, June 19, 2015 at St Elizabeth Seton in Bedford, N.H. Burial took place on Monday, June 22, 2015 in the New Hampshire State Veteran's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
