Therese A. Chabot, 91, of Manchester, died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family August 16, 2017 at Concord Hospice House, after a period of declining health.
She was born February 19, 1926, the daughter of Ernest Chabot and Mazelie Boutin. Therese was educated in Manchester and was a resident of the Queen City for most of her life. She worked for J.F. McElwain Shoe Co. for many years. She also worked for Rheault Studios, oil painting portraits and wedding photos, from her home. Therese was a devoted Catholic and a lady of faith. She was a long time parishioner of Ste. Marie Church, a member of The Consolers and going to the Adoration Chapel. This brought her great joy and peace. She would often say, "You have to be a witness of your faith". Therese was extremely active, with her friend Andy Martel, fighting the merger to "Save CMC". She could be found, with friends, outside of the hospital, praying the rosary, every Saturday, which was very important to her. She also enjoyed designing hook rugs, crocheting blankets, and knitting mittens. Therese had a love for flowers, enjoyed baking pies for church functions and baking bread for family, neighbors and friends. She had macular degeneration, but enjoyed playing cards with her daughter Angele and good friend Diane, and she would play to win.
Therese was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Roger Chabot in 1994.
Family includes three daughters, Lisette Hanson and husband Lawrence of Manchester, Monique Laflamme and husband Mark of Auburn, and Angele Chabot of Manchester; one son, Michel Chabot and wife Cecile of Manchester; five grandchildren, Jonathan Hanson, Sarah and Isaac Chabot; Greg Laflamme and Julie Bartula; three great grandchildren, Alex Chabot, Evie and Axel Arntson, and a great grandson on the way; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son, Pierre Chabot; great granddaughter, Camille Arntson; sister Rose-Delima Gosselin; and brother Wilfrid Chabot.
